All of these cushions have been made using vintage kimono fabric, which I source from a mother and son company called Kimonopetitjapon in a small town called Tokamachi, in the Niigata region of Japan. They painstakingly unpick old kimonos, launder them and then photograph them to sell. They are often exquisitely beautiful, and handpainted. The strips of kimono usually measure 35-40cms wide, so they make a smaller size cushion, which I think works well amongst a collection of varying sized cushions.
